Congrats to Edge Brewing The 2018 RBA Cup Winners
Keezer Build
For anyone interested I wrote up a PDF detailing my new keezer build design. It’s a coffin tower keezer that does not require you to move the keezer away from the wall and life the entire tower back to access the inside. I put it on the tips and tricks page.
Calling all Beer Geeks
Oak Highland’s Brewery Tour
Our Spring Craft Brewery Tour will be at Oak Highlands Brewery. It will start at noon and they will be doing a private tour for the club. They will also be debuting Edge Brewery’s Cloudy With A Chance of Mosaic New England IPA. For those that don’t know Edge is Derrick, Ian and Alec’s Home brewery.
Club Brew Day
Just a reminder this Saturday, May 5th, is our next club brew day. We will be meeting at Derrick Elledge’ s house the address was sent out in a group email. We will be brewing a Belgian style Tripel. We will also have 2 kegs that we brewed at the last brew day. Last time we took a 10 gallon batch of an American Pale Ale and split it fermenting each 5 gallons with a different yeast strain, one Belgian Ale and one Cal Ale. So now we can drink then side by side and see how much difference the yeast strain contributes.
2nd Quarter Club meeting
Our second Quarter Club Meeting will be this Coming Monday, April 2nd, at Woodcreek Brewing in Rockwall. The Meeting will begin at 7PM, but those who wish to come early Brad has offered to let come watch and see how a brew day goes there.
Congrats to Jason Roe
Pro Am Brew Reminder
Ready Set Brew
The date and time for the first, hopefully annual, Hemisphere Brewing/Rockwall Brewers Association Pro-Am brew competition is set. Judging will be held Saturday Febrewary 24th at 5:00pm at Hemisphere Brewery.
The competition is best in show, and will be judged by a panel picked by Hemisphere. The winner will have the opportunity to brew a 4 barrel version of their beer at Hemisphere to be served on tap there.
Rockwall Brewers will partner with Hemisphere for a release party when the beer is ready to go.
There is no set style, so brew what you want. The only exception is no sour beers, or barrel aged beers, we don’t why to tie up their fermentation space for to long. To enter you will need to bring 3 unmarked brown bottles of your beer to Hemisphere.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
